Water heater repair
What usually fails
On a gas heater it is most often the thermocouple, the gas valve or the burner. On electric it is an element or a thermostat. Those are repairs, and they are worth doing on a heater with life left in it.
When it is not worth repairing
A tank weeping at the seam is leaking, and that only ever gets worse. Rusty hot water, a tank that has quit holding temperature, or one well past its years is a replacement — and we will say so rather than sell you a repair twice.
Tankless
Repair, descaling and replacement, and new tankless installs for somebody coming off a tank. Hard water out here is what shortens a tankless unit, so we will talk to you about treatment at the same time.
Questions we get asked
How long does a water heater last?
It depends on the water more than the badge. Hard water scales a tank and an element and takes years off it. We will tell you what yours looks like inside. Can you do it the same day?
Often, depending on the day and the unit. Ring and we will tell you straight rather than leave you waiting.Do you work on tankless?
Yes — repair, descaling, replacement and new installs.Where we go
